Heavy Rains: NHA sets up special cell

Recent rains have left over 100 people dead and several hundred injured in the last few days.

ISLAMABAD: A central flood emergency cell has been set up at the National Highway Authority (NHA) headquarters in the capital to cope with the recent torrential rains and floods in the country, said an NHA spokesman on Saturday. According to the spokesman, NHA Central Flood Cell Focal Person Ikramus Saqlain Haider could be contacted on 051-9032831 and 0300-8543978. The public can keep themselves updated about the affected highways and motorways by calling on the numbers or request aid in case of any emergency. Recent rains have left over 100 people dead and several hundred injured in the last few days.
