Motherhood: Mathira welcomes a baby boy

Actor-singer gave birth on Wednesday.

KARACHI: VJ turned actor Mathira Mohammad has a new title, mother, after she gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday.

As the news spread on Wednesday, many started congratulating the one time yoga instructor. Some even shared pictures of Mathira and her new born son.

The actor had tied the knot in a small, private ceremony last year.

She had been looking at baby boy clothes just days before going into labor.

She was admitted to hospital on September 1, and had to watch Imran Khan's speech from the bed.

Mathira had entered showbiz with a health and yoga show on Vibe TV. She later hosted another show on the same channel, “Love Indicator” which brought her acclaim.

However, she dipped her toes into controversy after appearing in a contraceptive ad that was banned.

Since then, Mathira has continued to attract controversy from provocative photo-shoots to wardrobe malfunctions on the catwalk.

Mathira also tried her vocal cords at singing, releasing two singles, ‘Jhoota’ and ‘Jadugar’. Both songs, though, did not climb the music or video charts.

Last year, she appeared in Humayun Saeed's box office hit film 'Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi'.
