Broad Daylight: Govt official’s house robbed

RAWALPINDI: Armed robbers broke into the house of a government official in Pirwadhai and stole cash and valuables on Wednesday. Khalid Mehmood, residing in Mohalla Ayubabad and an official of a government department, told the local police that two masked men broke into his house around 2pm while his wife and a minor son were alone. They locked them in a room and looted Rs50,000 cash, jewellery, a mobile phone and other valuables. The police registered a case and an investigation are under way.
