LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from Anarkali police on a petition moved by a man seeking registration of a case against his wife and a nikah khwan for fraudulently increasing the dower amount in the nikah nama. Muhammad Jaffar told the court he had solemnised nikah with Salma*. He said a dower of Rs2,000 had been mentioned in the nikah nama. After a few weeks, he said, Salma left him and asked for payment of Rs500,000 as dower. He requested the court to direct the Anarkali station house officer to register a case against Salma and Muhammad Arshad, the nikah khwan.
