LAHORE: A US national travelling to Dubai was detained at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Thursday.

George William, a principal of a missionary school in the US, was held for questioning for carrying 30 weapons cartridges that were discovered in his luggage during routine security checks.

The recovered items were handed over to police, who launched an investigation into the case.

A police official, SP Cantt Jawad Qamar, told Express 24 /7 that preliminary investigations suggest William was carrying these cartridges as a gift for his son. Unlike Pakistan, a license is not required to carry cartridges in Dubai.
