The third round of talks between water experts from Pakistan and India hit an impasse on Tuesday when India refused to accept Pakistan’s demands to change the design of Kishanganga dam.
An Indian delegation – led by Indus Water Commissioner (India), K Vohra – arrived in Lahore to discuss the controversial water issues between both countries that have remain unresolved for several decades.
The delegation will return to India on August 28. Furthermore, it is likely that another round of talks will be held between the two delegations.
During Tuesday’s session, Pakistan raised objections to the design of Kishanganga dam and four other projects.
Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner, Mirza Asif Baig, informed the media that the talks were ineffective as both sides had failed to reach an agreement. He added that after the third round of talks ended on an inconclusive note, a dialogue report has been submitted to the government.
Asif Baig expressed dissatisfaction with the limited degree of progress made during the talks and said he was not sure when this dispute would be resolved.
A final session of talks will be held in September and October. Pakistan, according to Baig, will not allow India to put off the matter any further and a decision would be made in the final session,
After the second round of talks had failed on Monday, water experts from Pakistan had threatened to appeal to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Baig insists that the ICJ would be in a better position to arbitrate on the issue and broker a deal. However, he is waiting for the final session of talks to end.

Citizens of KPK, Kashmir, Balochistan, Sindh, and Southern Punjab are absolutely furious with Indian cutting of water, and at times releasing water to cause flash flooding. Shame on this illegal rogue state. God will judge with justice.
@Haider @Usman To all Pakistani Indus water treaty is the 1st in the whole world where a upside country(India in this case) legalized the minimum amount of water flow. Read the summary of Treaty and then never speak lie & tell your countryman that how much Good your neighbor India has done to you.

Ha Ha. The big problem with pakistan is that theycannot build a dam. They need chinese help. After 65 yrs they still dont know how to build a dam..Lol
@Usman:
Stop wasting time on talks, send the Indians a clear message........that please continue with your dam work, we are not gonna do anything to stop you.
Mr. Usman........hope this is what you wanted to say, but somehow skipped it......right ?
@usman Bombing these dam will harm pakistan more and that too in dual ways.1st through India's military wrath and the 2nd one through the massive flood through millions of cusecs of waters that 100's of these dams hold which have the potential to drown even pakistans urban centers like islamabad.and swallow even pakistans armys troops positioning grounds most of them is close to river sights. So ye stop talking in air.
Stop wasting time on talks, send the Indians a clear message.
There's only one way to solve this dam problem, by busting it. Time to bomb these illegal dams on the Indus. Then lets see if India's hollow words mean anything.
India should not violate indus water treaty... Hope more talks will resolve the situation
I have said it yesterday and saying it again, pakistan has already approached ICJ Kishanganga case on various parameters which includes the dams design and i think its verdict was given last year (2013) and that too in favour of India, paksitan lost that case and it cannot re appeal that case anymore. After loosing the case in ICJ and still expecting India to change the design of dam outside ICJ ambit is too naive and foolishness.India has legally won the case in ICJ including the design issue so it not to budge from its stand and will go ahead with it whatsoever.pakistan should forget it and even if they dont forget it there is nothing they can do except watching the dam being constructed. Also pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner is dreaming to take the Kishanganga case again to the ICJ and seems to be unware that their appeal will be flatly rejected cuz the verdict on that case was already given in favour of India and one cannot take the same case to the ICJ again.Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner should have verified before giving statements whether his govt has already taken that case to ICJ before or not.
hahahahahaha!!!!!
