Sit-in exertion: Hashmi hospitalised with flu, dehydration

Doctors took chest x-ray and blood sample. The result is expected on Tuesday morning.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi was admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) after his health deteriorated on Monday.


Hashmi suffers from dehydration, physical exertion, flu, sore throat and irritation in eyes, Pims spokesperson Dr Ayesha Eshani told The Express Tribune. Hashmi was brought to the hospital at around 11:45 am. “He has been admitted to a private ward and has been advised bed rest for two-three days,” Ehsani said. Doctors took chest x-ray and blood sample.

The result is expected on Tuesday morning.

The spokesperson said that the number of PTI and PAT protesters and policemen visiting the hospital has decreased.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak visited Hashmi at the hospital and enquired about his health.
