ISLAMABAD: During the Monday’s session of the National Assembly lawmakers suggested the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq not to accept the resignations tendered by the members of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI).

However, the number of resignations submitted by PTI remained unclear.

The lawmakers also said that dialogue process should be continued till logical end of political crisis.

A number of members of the house alleged that these marches have diverted the focus of the government from the issues of Internally Displaced People (IDPs), price hike and other important projects.

Contrary to last week, during Monday’s session opposition benches outnumbered treasury benches and overall attendance of the house was thin.

Taking active participation in the parliamentary session, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) MNAs delivered speeches against PAT chief Tahirul Qadiri and PTI chief Imran Khan.

During the House’s proceeding, Ejaz Jakharani of PPP requested the speaker that all heads of parliamentary parties want to meet him on PTI members’ resignation issue after the proceedings.

A federal minister told The Express Tribune that all parliamentary parties are unanimous on the point that PTI members’ resignation should not be accepted. Terming the resignations as fraud attempt, the minister said that the things would be clear once speaker issue notice to each member of PTI.

PPP’s Ayaz Soomro said that it is very painful to hear against the constitution from Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri. Sharing crux of meetings with former president Asif Ali Zardari, Soomro said that we will fight for the protection of the constitution and democracy.

Anothr PPP representative in the assembly, Peer Munawwar Ali Talpur said that the ongoing protests are not representing the view of entire Pakistan, as only few people from Lahore and Peshawar are part of the protest.

An official of the assembly said that session would continue till end of sit-in outside the parliament house, adding that as per schedule house was supposed to be prorogued on August 12.
