Medical entry test: Over 6,000 candidates to sit exam

Four centres have been designated <br /> for the test.

RAWALPINDI: The city district government has finalised arrangements to facilitate candidates who will appear in the medical entry test on August 31.

As many as 6,500 candidates will appear in the test, being conducted by the University of Health Sciences (UHS).

According to an official, four centres — the Government Postgraduate College for Women and the Government College for Boys in Satellite Town, Siddique Public School and the Ideal Cambridge School, Sixth Road have been designated for entrance test.

Makeshift waiting rooms, with proper seating arrangements, will also be set in each centre to accommodate the people accompanying the candidates, the official said.

He said that all adjoining roads to the centres will remain closed to traffic until the test took place.

The university regional coordination officer Syed Basil Sajjad said that the 150-minute test will start at 9am. He said the candidates have been advised to reach their respective centres at least one hour before the test started.

“The candidates must bring their admittance cards with them and nobody will be allowed to enter the examination centre without the card issued by the UHS,” he said.

He said that all centres will be closed at 8:15am and after that nobody will be allowed to enter the centres. He said that the test will comprise a single paper with 220 multiple-choice questions including 44 questions related to physics, 58 from chemistry, 30 from English and 88 from biology.

The official said that calculators, cell phones or any other gadget will not be allowed in the exam hall. He said that the candidates have been asked to bring only blue ballpoint pens with them.
