After failing to find a ‘suitable’ person to head the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the Capital Administration and Development Division has made another bureaucrat its acting director-general (DG).
CADD Minister Barrister Usman Ibrahim appointed additional secretary Qaiser Majeed as the new acting DG of the FDE.
The FDE has been going through a crisis for the last many months as the government has failed to appoint a permanent head to run its affairs.
The FDE looks after 424 schools and colleges in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
The FDE has seen seven heads in the last eight months. Earlier, former joint education adviser Rafiqe Tahir, additional secretary Haji Akbar Chheena and joint secretary Hafiz Sher Ali, all of them bureaucrats, also run the FDE as acting heads.
Last week, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad from the ministry of communications was appointed CADD’s new secretary.
