Missing: Newborn ‘abducted’ in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: An infant was allegedly abducted on Wednesday a few hours after her birth in a hospital. Abdul Jaleel, a resident of Chailay Wahan in Khairpur Tamewali, said he had taken his wife to City Hospital near the General Post Office. She gave birth to a girl on Wednesday. The infant was abducted at night. The family has demanded that police immediately take steps to recover the newborn. Civil Lines police have arrested Dr Khalid, the hospital owner, Raja, a janitor, and Muhammad Riaz, an assistant.
