Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan slammed Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri’s long marches, saying both leaders were performing to a given script.
“Invisible forces are behind the performances of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri, while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is taking shelter behind the armed forces,” he said, while talking to the media at the residence of former MPA Arshad Khan in Charsadda on Thursday.
Ibrahim said although his party supported the ideas of transparent polls and an independent election commission, it was against the brand of agitation shown by PTI and PAT. It paved the way for undemocratic forces, he added.
Ibrahim opposed their demands for the prime minister’s resignation and the dissolution of the Parliament. The professor said not only the opposition, but most of PTI’s leadership was against the dissolution of the K-P Assembly.
