Small recce plane crashes in Hangu

Security official confirms it was a test flight

HANGU/ PESHAWAR: An unmanned plane has crashed in Speen Tal area of Tal tehsil in Hangu early morning Wednesday. The security officials in the area also confirmed the incident. SHO Thal Farid Khan said that the meter long pilotless plane is used by the security agencies during search operation in sensitive areas. Khan said that the crash happens when the device goes out of range. A security official on the condition of anonymity in Peshawar confirmed that it was a drone which was on a test flight sortie from Cantonment area for filming purpose, but crashed due to technical fault. The area where the incident happened borders North Waziristan where armed forces are engaged in an operation against militants.
