ISLAMABAD:

According to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, more than half of all Pakistanis (56 per cent) support the dyeing of white hair as opposed to 41 per cent who believe that white hair should be left white.

In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the country were asked the following question:

Mostly people dye their hair when they start turning white while others leave them white. Do you think white hair should be dyed or left that way?

It revealed that 56 per cent favoured the dyeing of white hair where as 41 per cent said that they should not be dyed and left like that. Three per cent gave no response.

The findings of the survey revealed that relatively more urbanites (67 per cent) favour dyeing white hair as compared to their rural counterparts (50 per cent).

Interestingly, the survey did not find any significant difference in opinion by gender. Thus, at least in theory, around 40 per cent of both men and women do not favour the dyeing of white hair.
