The year has been eventful as we saw many celebrities from around the world tie the knot. Be it stars from the local television scene such as Sarwat Gillani or Hollywood powerhouses such as Jessica Simpson, these stunning brides dazzled in their eastern and western outfits respectively.

They wore their bridal outfits and accessories just right. East or west, here are celebrity weddings at their best!

Sarwat Gilani: The renowned Pakistani actor wed her fiancé, actor Fahad Mirza this Independence Day in a beautiful mint green and reddish pink embroidered outfit. Wearing emerald green and gold jewellery and with hair tied in a classy middle-parting bun, Sarwat exuded regality at her wedding.

Jessica Simpson: Wearing a gorgeous Carolina Herrera gown, the singer pulled off an as-pretty-as-a-princess look as she wed guitarist Eric Johnson on July 5. She epitomised elegance in a champagne and gold strapless multi-layer tulle gown, which didn’t take away from her at the ceremony. Simpson personified simple and classy on her big day.

Ayeza Khan: Television lovebirds Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor got hitched on August 16. Ayeza kept it traditional with a red and emerald green ensemble paired with a side teeka and ruby jewellery set. We aren’t fans of the striking apparel and make-up. It’s always best to keep it minimal.

Kim Kardashian: The celebrity’s wedding gown seemed to be right out of a fairytale. Tying the knot with rapper Kanye West on May 24, Kim stunned in a lace Givenchy gown matched with a silk veil. With her hair down covered with a long net veil, her natural beauty shone through at the wedding. We love it.

Never seen any Pakistani brides with bindi. Maybe some are okay with it, but none of the Pakistani celebs above are wearing bindi. They're wearing teeka.

Since when did Pakistani brides start sporting bindhis or is it acceptable to do so now. They do look better with bindhiyas.
