The last date for submission of applications for admission to diploma and degree courses at Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) is August 20, said PGMI Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra.
For the academic session of 2014-2015, the PGMI is offering courses in general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, ENT, cardiac surgery, paediatric, radiology, dermatology, anatomy, bio chemistry, physiology and micro biology.
Vohra told a meeting the PGMI provided opportunity to doctors from across Pakistan to study at a single platform. He said the fee structure at the PGMI was economical.
“Doctors should take full advantage of this opportunity and acquire professional skills to serve the ailing humanity.”
He said PGMI doctors were not only working in a number of private and government hospitals in Pakistan but they were also serving at international health organisations.
A doctor who attended the meeting said the merit for admission to the faculties of medicine, general surgery and neurosurgery was likely to be more than other courses. He said diploma courses were helpful for the general physicians and medical officers who did not have time to enroll in a four-year specialisation training programme. He said admissions were granted after a test and interview.
