LAHORE:

Former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former deputy prime minister Pervez Elahi on Friday condemned the attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s convoy.

They said the responsibility for the incident lay with Sharif brothers. They said the attack would not have happened without their instructions. They said the action had unveiled the democratic façade of the government. They said Sharif brothers were spreading anarchy in the country. They said in what kind of democracy is the opposition targeted with bricks, stones, batons and firearms. They praised the workers of the PTI and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) for showing restraint and remaining peaceful.

Addressing several Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) workers leaving for the Inqilab March, Elahi said, “The Sharif brothers have not learnt from their past mistakes.”
