The Crime Investigation Department (CID) found the body of an officer, who had gone missing a year ago, on Wednesday.
ASI Raja Arshad, who was considered a close aide of slain SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan, had been missing since he was allegedly kidnapped from Napier during Ramazan in 2013. His body was found buried at Mira Mai Pir graveyard in Lyari’s Baghdadi locality.
CID’s AEC officials said that they were able to find Arshad’s buried body on the information provided by a recently detained accused, who admitted to have killed and buried the body in a gunny bag at a graveyard.
AEC spokesperson Basharat Hussain said that members of the Ameen Buledi gang had kidnapped him when he was on the way home and a kidnapping case was also registered at the Napier police station.
