Where Independence Day celebrations were in full swing on August 14, Express Entertainment celebrated the occasion with a landmark live transmission. The transmission titled Mera Inaam Pakistan started at 11am and went on till 6pm as celebrities from different section of entertainment industry walked in and shared their opinions on the importance of this day. Since the name of the transmission was borrowed from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s song Pakistan Pakistan, the lyricist of that anthem, Jamiluldin Aali as also featured on the show as he spoke about the importance of owning yourself. Other guests on the show included veteran singer Mohammad Ali Shyhaki, Ahmed Jehanzaib, Danish Nawaz, Nadia Hussain, Nadeem Jaafri and Naeem Abbas Rufi to name a few.
“You never feel more patriotic about your home when you are in a foreign land” Shyhaki shared with the audience. “No matter how many live shows I have done around the world, nothing beats the charisma of performing in Pakistan and for Pakistanis.”
Express Entertainment was the only channel to run a live transmission on Independence Day.
