Photographed by Micheal Avedon, Emma channels old Hollywood glamour in the campaign, sporting a silver Lanvin feathered gown, a style made timeless by her legendary grandmother. Interestingly, Micheal is the grandson of famed photographer Richard Avedon, who labelled Audrey as his muse in the 1950s.
Emma didn’t ever get to meet Audrey, who passed away from cancer a year before she was born in 1993. However, the young model has come to know a lot about her grandmother through her father Sean Hepburn Ferrer, Audrey’s first son with Mel Ferrer.
“As a child, I couldn’t really relate to Audrey Hepburn, the actor. To me, she was family. I can live with her through my father. His stories are all about his growing up,” said Emma. “I remember seeing a photo of her jumping on a trampoline. I believe this was before I understood that she was famous. But I remember thinking that she looked like a friend I wish I could have had,” she added.
Emma is gradually coming to terms with being related to Audrey, but said, “Lately, I’ve been questioning a lot what she means to me. Sometimes when I was younger, I felt confused about what having a grandmother like her could mean in my life, but now, I understand it.”
