GILGIT: Five members of a family visiting Gilgit-Baltistan were killed when their vehicle fell into a deep  gorge. The accident took place on Tuesday near  Fairy Meadows, a popular tourist destination near Chilas, when the driver lost control of the vehicle on their way back, said a police official. He added those killed included a man identified as Atif Hussain, his wife and their three children, all residents of Faisalabad, Punjab. The driver was admitted to a hospital in Chilas. Local volunteers rushed to rescue the victims after the incident, but remained unsuccessful due to the difficult terrain and lack of equipment. However, police helped retrieve the bodies from the gorge on Wednesday to transport them back home.
