Emergency response: Seminar on disaster preparedness held

The objective of the seminar was to train doctors, nurses to deal with an emergency.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) arranged a seminar and hands-on training workshop on disaster management and trauma on Wednesday.


More than 150 participants, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and CDA CARES staff attended the training course which was supervised by Capital Hospital Head of Surgery Dr Naeem Taj. Taj spoke on triage and disaster management and demonstrated the colour coding of triage in multiple and mass causalities.


He further spoke on initial assessment and resuscitation of trauma patients. Several other doctors informed participants about the initial diagnosis and care of patients in an emergency situation.


The objective of the seminar was to train doctors, nurses  to deal with an emergency.
