ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has undertaken a drive to clear wild bushes and grass in the post-monsoon season. CDA’s environment wing has constituted teams that overseen by deputy directors to clear green belts, median strips and footpaths of wild shrubs. The bushes are also potential breeding sites for dengue larva. CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the authority to finalise arrangements for the tree plantation drive. An official said more species of fruit and flowering plants, in addition to evergreen plants, will be planted during the drive. CDA teams are also removing bushes and grass from the banks of streams and sides of various avenues. The public can register their complaints with regard to the drive at 051-285513.
