The premier is expected to discuss the current political crisis in light of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ‘Azadi’ march and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s ‘Inqilabi’ march.
Further, the prime minister will also review the economic performance of the country over the past year.
Earlier today, the premier lashed out at Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri saying that “the runaway from Canada should have participated in the 2013 general elections if he wanted to bring a ‘revolution’ in Pakistan”.
Speaking at the launch of the Vision 2025 programme, the premier, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, stated that a ‘revolution’ cannot come with only around 200 votes.
He also critisised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, stating that the PTI chief should have held the Azadi march during the general elections and not a year after they were held.
“August 14 is a day for everyone to be together,” Nawaz said, adding that PTI should have kept their long march in solidarity with the government.
Further, during his opening remarks at the National Security Conference on August 9, the premier invited the PTI to talks, saying that the country could not afford any political confrontation at a time when its military was engaged in a confrontation against terrorists and when efforts are being made to revive the country’s economy.

I wonder if NS will announce the news all PMLN supporters have been dying to hear: Gullu Butt has been released on bail!
My wishful thinking: Nawaz Sharif voluntarily resigns and announces re-election to put an end to the crisis.
@Riaz How much did NS or Bhutto or any one else got? NS got about 4 years in total in three years of tenure. Yes they needed to establish leadership but that is a system wide responsibility which no one did and due to military interventions.
The important thing now is to let the processes settle. This is first time a government is trying to complete its five years after first transfer of civilian power. Growing pains.
@Naveen MNS and PMLN government is not going any where my friend. NS will never ever resign and nor will he ask for new elections before 2018. PTI may sit in 2 days 3 days or how many days, he wont go. Now things may get out of control and than may be Army will step in but that will also not lead to any thing for PTI.
Army may very well force NS out but they wont just force NS out they will force every one out which probably will be OK.
Any way you will not get any thing!
The comments above give me impression of people out of touch , elitist pathetically shallow gruop .NS is NOT ideal but these impataints must respect peoples mandate. Even if all complaints of rigging were corrected it will NOT impact the resluts of elections by any major degree,.EvEN ik SAID ONE TIME THAT THIS MAY IMPACT ABOUT 25 SEATS. But now riding on establishments bandwagon he is being opportunistic. Now answer me THIS. Are Zardari shekh Rashid and Choudhries better thasn NS ? How come IK will bring revolution with their help. Think and answer.
@Ch. Allah Daad: I thought you are an intelligent person, don't you think it is the right of the citizens to have a peaceful protest if they have some grievences. Why put so many hurdles to up hold democracy in the coutry. Shabaz Sharif ordered the police to fire on political avtivists of Qadri's party, did they really deserve to be killed for their unarmed activities. You should know between right and wrong, why was NS so adamant not have thumb verification of 4 constituencies demanded by IK in the beginning, the heavens were not going to fall if that would have been done as a democratic responsibility in a democratic government. That gesture certainly would have taken the wind out IK demands and assertions. It seems the brothers were hiding something and rather kill the ctizens instead of facing what ever the out come of that verification. I want you to think about it instead of calling names. I assure you that I don't support any political party, any religious outfits and certainly not supporting any military taking over the government in Pakistan, I say what I see and call it spade a spade for the integrity of Pakistan and nothing else.
Why is a protest march a big deal in Pakistan? OBL hiding in the shadows of the Pakistan Military Academy all but gets ignored ... but harsh language and people walking/carrying signs gets the govt all worked up. Makes no sense. If you want to remain a real Democracy your leadership has to get used to people complaining .. nature of the beast.
@Malveros Obviously, anyone could win rigged elections. Just like a student who cheated in an exam would not want a retake under strict invigilation, same is the case with this cheater. If you have studied well, errr..... I mean done good for the country, let's have a re-election, what is there to fear?
But yea, I forgot, this country is just like the HEC, people who were absent on exam days have also passed, just like this cheater.
What a big disapointment as nawaz shareef and his party has become an expert how to topple their govt in minimum time. I think this time again they will improve their previous record. Good luck.
Sharif can address the nation as much as he wants but his removal from office is only a matter of days not even weeks. His rigging got him the PM house but God knows who is a thief and he ensures that persons fall from power. So the Sharifs will not only fall but will fall badly this time around. The interesting thing to note here is how PMLN MNAs have been contacting PTI and asking them ti allow them to join the march at the right time. Basically the Sharifs are sinking and no one will go down with them not even Dar. Hopefully this time we will finally have both Sharifs face the 80 plus corruption and criminal cases that are pending against them and bring their ill gotten wealth back to Pakisan.
@Karima Shah:
Spot on! Only difference between now and the 90s is that now he's twice as corrupt, twice as incompetent and twice as criminal!
@H Chaudhry:
Would you like some cheese with that whine? Please take care of yourself. Nawaz is headed out of power and probably to the gallows where he belongs. So please take an anti anxiety pill and take care of your health!
@ H Chaudhary , Give me one answer :
Any visionary leader will think 20-30 years ahead , right ? What is biggest asset to build in a country? Its people and their leadership .. Can you name one young politician who had been honed by Mr NS for this country , other than Mr Hamza Sharif and Ms.Maryam sharif in these 2-30 years of his rule ? Why.
IK has lost his credibility by joining hands with Qadri. I hope he will not allow Qadri to hijack his show to which I have my doubts.
Sharif will cry and moan and complain just like he did in the 1990s. But at the end of the day he will not resign as he knows he will never see the PM house again after this so he will cling to it like a child clings to milk. But not to worry, we will drag him out of the PM house in days and finally the country will be rid of the Sharifs once and for all.
It is laughable to read the comments from PTI trolls that NS will resign. Don't these imbeciles realize that IK has been rejected in the elections and the election was held in 2013. Imran Khan is turning into a pathological liar and a true loser. He is nothing but a power hungry opportunist.
@Ch. Allah Daad: He was never a lion, did you bet on a lion? poor you!
Make it short. Here is the script:
"I resign and leave for Jeddah for a lifelong Umrah. Thank you and good bye"
Nawaz Sharif is the only hope for Pakistan. Imran is continuously fooling the nation. All my prayers for respected Nawaz Sharif.
This guy delayed his first speech for months, but as soon as his typo fake mandate is in jeopardy, he wants to address.
May save Nawaz Sharif from the hate of haters. I have never listened any substandard sentence from the mouth of Nawaz Sharif. On the other hand, Imran always uses dirty language against Nawaz Sharif. Imran's personality is nothing as compared to nawaz Sharif's personality. Imran needs to grow.
Nawaz Sharif is doing very mature politics. But Imran is doing politics of 90s. Imran is very immature.
Pakistan is in a loose-loose situation today. Authority of NS is diminishing with each passing hour and others have no clear vision about the future of Pakistan. Rest assured, army will not take direct control and will try to protect its interests only from the barracks. Can't see anyone from the current crop of leaders who can steer Pakistan on the path of peace and progress. As I see, anything can happen in Pakistan from now on.
@Ali I am part of the Nation and time to talk to me is not over and will never over.
Thank you MNS. Thanks for finally taking this step and no better time when people have already seen the true faces of Lunatics of inqillab and fasad. Tell Nation
The last census and power plant was built by you in 1998. The 16 years of criminal lack of planning and development is why we are where we are.
The economic recovery is a process and what you have done at Macro level in 1 years was necessary and not an option.
Tell them you will NEVER EVER resign. We voted you in and we will protect it. This is a battle for Pakistan. Tell them life of common man can not improve over night but the right steps in economy, investor confidence, and flow of money will have a sweet impact. Tell them why infrastructure development is a proven economic principal to stimulate stalled economy. Tell them changing government, overthrowing government, foreign religious psychopaths have destroyed our country. NO MORE AND NEVER AGAIN.I am with you till my last breath. You need to improve on many things and you need to fix a lot of your attitudes but you have to stay and complete your five years that we gave you.
I am only interested in two words from his mouth...."I resign".
Hopefully this is the last time we see you as a prime minister!
My question is Mian Sb., where is Chodhary Nisar, if you can't deal with your own important minster NISAR, how come you will deal with masses under the leadership of Great Great Great Imran Khan. Almighty God Bless Imran Khan and my motherland Pakistan
What is the point of coming on tv Nawaz Sharif? Normally, Sharif doesent care about anything except going on foreign tours with his family and extended family in tow all at taxpayers expense, writing off loans from banks he and his family took, and rigging national elections to get back to power! He does not even meet members of his own party, beyond the handful of relatives he has around him, let alone the people of Pakistan ! This TV appearance is nothing but a shameful attempt at begging for sympathy which he does not deserve and will not get. In fact, when he is kicked out of power along with his brother in a few days time, we will be distributing mithai all over the country. He is the worse PM in our history, and not even deserving of the title of ex-PM even.
Please don't resign and fight these low lives like a lion.
Long Live Nawaz Sharif !
So what is he going to tell the nation, his autocratic rule and denying the basic human rights of all to protest peacefully. Is he going to tell us that his police has hijacked privately owned buses and forced the passengers to disembark at not their destinations. Is he going to tell us his draconian actions to stop peaceful marches, is he going to tell us that his brother has ordered to kill the innocent protesters in Model Town Lahore. Is he going to tell us that he has created barricades and shortage of gasoline to inconvenience the common people for their livelihood. Is he going to tell us that he has rigged the elections and that is why he refused to have thumb verification done in some constituencies because it will expose him. Pakistani people are not stupid and they could see though his dictatorial rule and his mismanagement.
This is a laughable attempt by Sharif to try to beg for mercy. It will not work. His end was written the day he rigged the elections, what he has done since then has only hastened his end. Now, we are not even looking at months before he is thrown out but days. And yes, the boots are getting closer to both the Sharif brothers.
Emperor Nawaz must explain
Y He killed us people in Model Town Y He put containers which caused death of patients in ambulances Y He ordered his goons to take out rallies in Zaman Park today Y He has made plans to create law and order situation and arrest I.K Y He does not hold elections in his own party Y He made speech on election night begging for clear majority Y He has now planed to release Musharraf Y He keeps militants squad of Gullu Butt Y He is keeping his looted money abroad Y He was arrogant for 14 Months and now wants to talk Y He is stooping people from exercising their constitutional right to protest
Just release Musharraf. TuQ will go away. And ask for a complete audit of the elections. All evidence points to - and supported by neutral election observers - that it was a clean election and PML-N got a significant majority (exceptions in many seats but majority not in question).
As if anyone cares what Sharif says. He is a proven liar and why should anyone care what he says. Time for him to run for it, as usual.
So he will come on tv, reading a prepared statement, crying about his "mandate", which he never had to begin with. How pathetic !
Nawaz should understand that time to talk to the nation or to PTI is over. PML-N was given an opportunity once again but keeping its tradition of arrogance and incompetence, it failed once again.
Here we go ! Another appearance by Sharif just like the 90s when he came on TV claiming he would fight and would do this and that as if he actually had legs to stand on! This will be another desperate appearance on national tv which will at least be amusing along with being pathetic, just like most of Sharif's public statements and appearances. When the bells toll, like they are for the Sharif brotharan, people do anything they can to stay in power. Unfortunately for the Sharifs, they are a product of a dictator and have no true political caliber which is why they resort to rigging elections to get into power. Now that the game has been exposed, and they are on their last days in power, the Sharifs dont know where to run. The army does not care about them, the people dont care about them, so their only hope is to recruit as many Gullu Butts to do their bidding as they can. Whichever way you look at it, Sharifs are headed for major trouble, either in jail or in exile or even worse. And frankly, no one will shed a tear for them,
poor guy definitely in immense pressure
Must listen. As this seems like his resignation speech as demanded by Sir Imran, Sheikh ul Islam Qadri Sahib and Sheikh Rasheed Sahib
Nation was searching you since may 2013, but you were lost. Now you contact them when you get into trouble due to your ill politics. Mr. Sharif don't hate your opponents, give them respect and get out of circle of bureaucrats and try to live with politicians, otherwise nation will not listen you.
I hope democracy prevails...I really want this government to complete its term...current situation of chaos isnt going to help anybody
Typical Nawaz.....day too late and a dollar too short.
Hopefully this will be the last address of this civilian dictator!
