Tragedy: Two children drown in canal

FAISALABAD: Two children drowned in Rakh Branch Canal near Mansoorabad police station on Sunday. A Mansoorabad police spokesman said three-year-old Waris, his brother Yasir and cousin Shabana by the canal bank near Kashmir Bridge at Canal Road where their mother was washing clothes. He said the children slipped and fell in the canal. Some passers by jumped in but were unable to rescue them. Later, Rescue 1122 was called. The rescue team fished the three children and took them to a hospital. The spokesman said Waris and Shabana died on the way to the hospital and Yasir was also critical in a hospital.
