FAISALABAD: Police said on Sunday that a boy had been killed in Samanabad after being hit by a stray bullet. Muhammad Ramazan, a bystander, said Raees Ahmad had organised a function to celebrate the wedding of his son Adnan Ahmad in Abdullah Colony. He said some of Adnan’s friends, apparently inebriated, had started firing in the air during the ceremony. Ramazan said the groom’s relatives had tried to stop his friends but their efforts had proved futile. A stray bullet then hit a boy standing near the venue who was identified as Abdullah. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital. A police team reached the spot but was unable to arrest the culprits. The body of the deceased has been shifted to a hospital for autopsy.
