The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has barred Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak from attending the National Security Conference, citing the illegal steps taken by government against the workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
“All these acts carried out by PML-N are against democratic norms, they are behaving like monarchs,” Imran told Express News.
“We have asked K-P chief minister to not participate in the security conference, scheduled for Saturday, as the government has already started taking illegal and unconstitutional steps against peaceful protesters, which shows the dictatorial mindset of the rulers,” said Imran.
He was of the opinion that the government has resorted to a massive crackdown across Punjab against the workers of PAT and PTI. “Government has no right to react in such a violent way against peaceful protests. It has blocked all the roads and confiscated motorcycles of hundreds of common citizens, which is against the law,’ the PTI chief maintained.
Imran said: “PTI is protesting peacefully, it has not broken any law and it’s their lawful right to protest against the injustices done by the government.”
“Even in Musharraf’s tenure such gruesome acts weren’t carried out,” said Imran, warning that the PTI workers will not bow down against the government and will stand firm no matter what.
The PTI chief asked that he should be told that under which law the government has confiscated the motorcycles of hundreds of people and why has the capital been barricaded.

@Muslim Leaguer: You and your party are real democrats. Nawaz is not even worth a drone. I wouldn't even waste a drone on him. How would you like it if some one said the same thing for your father or your brother.
@itl:
So your are giving me your word that if tomorrow (God Forbid) the same Pakistani Chapter of Gallup headed by the same Gillani publishes a survey which is overwhelmingly in favor of PTI and IK, you would for all practical purpose DISAVOW it as well on grounds that this organization has no credibility and Gillani is a person of low character?
The statement of IK that the demonstration was peaceful and police charged on innocent workers Can any sensible man call it peaceful when so called innocent workers were heavily equipped with dandas and shields.It was a replay of Lal Masjid when so called innocent people were displaying Kalashnikov s / dandas from the roof top of Lal Masjid.. Jathas were roaming about abducting people. threatening and controlling the market. Khan Sahib kuch to grey matter istemal karo.
Imran is proving to be a nuisance rather than a Renaissance on the political front as his desperation for power is increasing. People making it a provincial issue should be ashamed of themselves
@K Alam: for your sick mind try to remember 21 May and Karachi then you will come to know how much democratic was musharaf and how much democratic is imran who supported musharaf in his refrandum.
@Adnan Siddiqi: You do realize that Gallup Pakistan has nothing to do with the American Gallup Inc. right? How do you expect anyone to believe in an organization with no credibility and a stolen name? The man heading Gallup Pakistan, Dr Gilani served as advisor to then prime Mister Nawaz Sharif from 1991-1993. He had served as Chairman of the PM's Committee for Research and Analysis situated in the PM House that time.
I am not a supporter of PTI and Imran Khan, but i fully support your action of not letting KPK govt being apart of this meeting, We want to see a Free and Independant Pukhtoonkhwa from Punjab's influence. Thank you Imran Khan
@K Alam: Wow!! Thanks for the revelation. In case you don't know how General Musharraf handled Imran Khan, please read this link: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2007/nov/15/pakistan.declanwalsh This is Guardian's report available on the internet for all Burger Kids who were living in some Dreamland during 2007... The current Government should also put Imran Khan under house arrest, the same way Musharraf arrested him?
@itl:
NS to be removed by the army of the third time?! How did you figure this out? Sheeda Tully also goaded IK into believing the same and look where IK and PTI have ended up today. Both are on the verge of being declared the enemy of the state.
Also understand as to where PTI and IK stand today:
http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-News-13-32101-People-do-not-want-Imran-as-PM-Gallup
This is very disappointing.Imran Khan is proving himself to be a un-reasonable politician.I will never vote for PTI
@Naan Siddiqi:
Keep dreaming!
You can talk to taliban but not to elected government. A little double stabdard isn't it ?
Imran Khan has the right instinct not to participate, since the plan is to identify the dissentions who then will be placed under surveillance and even house arrest by the police and military after the conference. This method has been previously used by the military.

Imran Khan should study the history of India which has experienced a period known as Sikha Shai, it is now living in the Raj of Punjabi muslim league.

This man is so arrogant who has given him the right to bare chief minister of KPK not to attend the national conference he is behaving like a dictator shame on PTI legislators who have scummed to this queen Elisbeth of Pakistan. What constitution is he speaking about does the mob of the cult of TUQ behaving in a constitutional way. they have already taken 4 police men hostages, does this happen in any civilized countries in this world. Both Imran and TUQ have now become desperate. TUQ giving speech in English to address his God fathers to save him and Imran clearly sees he is heading for a disaster. Now there interest is common to put our country in chaos and disaster. After that one will leave to Canada and the other will go to UK and the people of Pakistan will suffer.
compared to the present government, Musharraf being a military ruler, had always displayed a democratic attitude. This so called government is fascist and acting like true dictators in civilian garb
@Adnan Siddiqi: Terrible comparision between the two. Firstly, IK has never mentioned that he wants to secede KPK. Secondly Mukhti Bahini was fighting against Pakistan's army while on the other hand PTI's main opponent Nawaz Sharif is on his way to be removed by the army for a third time. Go figure...
I think IK fears Khattak may not be competent enough to stand out in front of everyone failing to give any logical solution.
In KP, people voted for IK not Pervaz Khattak so IK by all means have every right to dictate the party policy on major issues.
IK's actions are reminiscent of what prevailed in East Pakistan but we will not cede KPK! PTI as of today is a Mukhti Bahini which is funded by the enemies of Pakistan.
The end is just about nigh for this imbecile. Not only he will be erased from the political landscape of Pakistan but the same CM he is barring today, will be heading a PML-N led government in KPK by the end of the month.
again IK making same mistake like that of boycotting 2008 elections......Khattak should attend National security meeting and launch his protest right there in the conf....that makes more sense
People are going to start getting even with each other and that will unravel what is left of Pakistan.
So what should the government do when a cult led by a hysterical autarch is ready to mount an offensive on the capital? Jim Jones, and Oshos of the civilised world were dealt in the same way, and IK and TUQ are no different.
Lolz he is unconstitutionally barring his chief minister from participating in security meeting while in same breath asking about his constitutional rights. This is monarchy.
Who cares Mr IK if you don't attend the meeting.You were not asked to give your opinion in the meeting but to listen to the commands and follow it.Btw what democratic rights you are asking for when you don't believe in this system.NS is not a monarch but it's you who behave like a dictator and expect the whole nation to put you above law -that's not possible.
@Muslim Leaguer: Your last line shows your mentality !
Now Imran Khan starts showing his true color as a worst Dictator by barring even the elected Chief Minister from attending Security meetings. Drone be upon him!
