ISLAMABAD: The current telecom sector revenues of around Rs580 billion are expected to increase to Rs800 billion in the next five years. These revenues are also expected to touch the Rs1,200-billion mark by 2025 dominated by contribution through mobile broadband. As estimated by consultants working with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the auction of 3G/4G spectrum has already contributed to the national exchequer and national economy as the government has achieved Rs122 billion (including tax) against the budgetary target of Rs120 billion through this auction.
