Joint operation: Three dozen suspects nabbed in Bhara Kahu
Officials of other security agencies were also involved in the operation.
ISLAMABAD:
Teams of Pakistan Rangers (PR) and Islamabad police on Wednesday conducted a joint search operation in the slums of Bhara Kahu and nabbed 37 suspects including nine Afghans, a police spokesman said.
Following directions from SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara, a search operation was conducted in Bhara Kahu by officials of Pakistan Rangers and Bhara Kau Police Station and supervised by SP (City) Mustansar Ferooz and SDPO Secretariat Khalid Nadeem. Officials of other security agencies were also involved in the operation.
During the search operation, 37 suspects, including nine Afghans, were arrested who are being investigated further. Police also recovered an SMG and a pistol, along with ammunition, from the suspects. The SP said the Afghan nationality cards of the nabbed suspects would be verified and their mobile phones’ record would also be obtained. He said the Islamabad Police have set up a cell to trace the links of suspected criminals and terrorists.
Nekokara has further directed that police maintain high vigilance and conduct search operations in under-construction buildings, hotels, inns, slums and other areas.
