Discussing electoral fraud: EU official meets PTI leader
Proofs of electoral rigging unearthed by PTI were discussed in the meeting along with electoral irregularities.
The deputy head of a delegation of the European Commission, Pierre Mayaudon, called on Dr Shahzad Waseem, an adviser to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday. According to a press release, proofs of electoral rigging unearthed by PTI were discussed in the meeting along with electoral irregularities revealed in a report of the European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission. Waseem said PTI is striving for strengthening democracy by demanding reforms in the electoral process and ensuring accountability of persons involved in irregularities. He claimed hundreds of thousands of people will participate in the Azadi March on August 14 to demand free and fair elections in the country.
