MANSEHRA: A leopard killed eight goats in a village of Siran Valley, local residents said. According to Mir Aman, a resident of Chota Bala village, he went home and left behind 20 goats in his ranch which has no walls. Upon his return on Wednesday morning, Aman found seven goats killed and estimated a loss of over Rs60,000. He said another villager, Sher Zaman, also lost a goat to the leopard’s attack the same night. Confirming that he saw the leopard dragging his goat towards the forest, Sher Zaman said despite several complaints, wildlife authorities have yet to take action. He added that leopards often travel down to populated areas from nearby forests in search of food, causing villagers heavy losses by killing their cattle every year.
