International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) confirmed the occurrence of the incident today which involved ISAF and local Afghan troops at the Marshal Fahim National Defense University in Kabul. They confirmed that an ISAF service member had been killed in the incident.
However, ISAF did not disclose the nationality or rank of the serviceman.

@Jafar Kazmi: Pakistan plays on both sides of the game. For Pakistan "war on terrorism" is a money making machine.
@the Skunk: "These soldiers went to Afghanistan to train them professionally" Are you serious with this statement, the Americans wants to train those who at the age of three learn to shoot and at the age of 16 become the snipers, and have squarely defeated marines and seals on the battle ground?

@Ch. Allah Daad: Your top brass is aware of the risk, but be sure they have nothing to fear from the Talibans but from those who are their friends and live in the vicinity.

@Professor:
I am sure Panadol will be available in India in future, right?
@Ch. Allah Daad: Sir, is it a taliban attack? No clue in the post.
R.I.P.
Very sad. These soldiers went to Afghanistan to train them professionally. Unfortunately, these people are incorrigible and the ISAFs plans have melded with the dirt. Alexander the Great and the Mongols were smarter. They read and understood the terrain and what they will gain from attacking and occupying Afghanistan? They just passed through, fought a few battles, and defeated the Afghans. Alexander after paying tribute to the relevant tribes established posts, at places considered strategic, and advanced towards India. What we have here is another form of world domination where comprehending the odds is not easy. Indeed, it is sad and we pray that the West will learn from history, if not the present day disasters in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and GAZA. Salams
@Hamid: "Afghanistan will forever be Pakistan’s headache." And Pakistan the world's.
@Saeed: yes Afghans dont't;but Afghan Taliban do,and hundreds of times more than they kill any of the occupying force.Thanks to the support provided them by a neighboring country.
At least Afghans have the decency not to kill civilians like US and US supported Israel. The general belonged to occupying force and Afghans have a right to kill him. Let's call it a friendly fire if this can comfort someone.
It has been many hours, why has Afghan government not blamed Pakistan yet !! Perhaps memo from New Delhi has not arrived ....yet.
R.I.P., I feel sympathy for these officers killed
Afghanistan will forever be Pakistan's headache.
@Mr. Abdullah we should make condolence to everyone who understand the meaning of sympathy, what they are doing in Palestine & and now what is the credit ability of united nation in all the scenario...Israel and America no more cares what a miserable life and situation Palestine' s are suffering from....MAY ALLAH shower countless blessing on the Muslims of Palestine...Ameen....
Taliban must be defeated at any cost, otherwise who have resources and will to kill American Generals can harm our top brass without any fear.
@Abdullah Ali: Abdullah Ali, good try. Your green card is ready to be picked up at US consulate. Or would you like it to be delivered to you at your castle?
@Jafar Kazmi: Wake up
History tells us that Afghans are brave and ruthless,, hospitable and very kind but above all they can never be trusted neither by friends nor foes. Their culture dictates their political posture and not the other way around. Those who deal with them must first try to understand their psyche which for countless centuries has remained unchanged.
Rex Minor .
America might take this incident as an excuse to stay in Afghanistan beyond 2014.
@Jafar Kazmi... May we together defeat terrorists who are against democracy and secularism in Islamic countries... May your wish come true... I will like to know what is the percentage of Pakistanis will opt for secularism..
@Sonya: We should all be sad for the loss of life regardless of whose it is. In their own way, they're all fighting for something. My condolences to the families of everyone who has died: the General, the 'terrorist' or any civilian.
This is not a pleasing piece of news but when we see about 2000 unarmed civilians killed (most of them children and women) by US funded Israel and supported by Germany - we don't really feel sympathy for these officers killed.
Pakistani military establishment and US military establishment are allies of each other. As a Pakistani I feel sad over this incident. May we together defeat terrorists who are against democracy and secularism in our countries.
