The PTI president was headed to Sialkot to address a PTI workers convention but despite efforts to land at the airport, his plane was not permitted.
The airport administration said Hashmi’s plane was not allowed to land owing to unfavourable weather conditions. PTI workers protested against this action.
Hashmi then diverted his plane to Islamabad. Upon arriving in Islamabad, the PTI president said he was at a loss to explain why the government is taking such adverse actions against his party.
The government earlier announced that Article 245 of the Constitution be implemented in Islamabad in what is believed to be a move to obstruct PTI chief Imran Khan’s ‘Azadi’ march to Islamabad on August 14.
However, while speaking to the media outside the National Assembly today, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the implementation of Article 245 in the federal capital was not related to the march on August 14.
PTI chief Imran Khan is set to lead his million-man ‘Azadi’ march to Islamabad on August 14.

Hey guys, i am from sialkot and weather here right now is actually bad for a jet to land here
@Reality Check: What a strange news!! Javaid Hashmi, PTI MNA from NA-149, has not paid any Tax (The detail of Tax by all parliamentarians is available on the website of FBR) http://download1.fbr.gov.pk/Docs/201469962916404PARLIMENTARIANSTAXDIRECTORY2013Dt.09.06.2014.pdf The PTI guy evades taxes and owns an aircraft. He was inducted in PTI during the regime of General Pasha.. Anyone from FBR/ECP should send immediate notice to this Tax-Defaulter and scrutinize his records. He must be disqualified for the tax default.
There is no ban on being rich simply if you are honestly trying to reform Pakistan. For heaven's sake people! Whatever it costs, I have yet to find incontrovertible evidence of him or anyone in the party using public funds on their activities. If they aren't using public money it is none of anybody else's business, whether or not they are public figures.
Hence proven that Musharaf plane in 1999 was being diverted by Nawaz Sharif.
Who provided private plane to Javed Hashmi (I know he can't afford). Now I believe this party can provide INSAF to poor.
Due to bad weather the plane could have crashed..................Thanks to PMLN for saving his life.......
Oh so the plane was diverted due to poor weather conditions......
How many PTIand read the story and tried to use the common sense before making comments!
@mustafa alvi
do you have any idea how much it costs to have a private jet? to run it and keep a pilot? I dont know which javed Hashmi you are talking about but being from Multan I can assure you he does not have the money to be flying around in private jets.. It would be prudent to not try and defend an indefensible act
Another case of Air Piracy against Nawaz Sheriff. He is destined to repeat his mistakes again and again.
You don't witness such incidents even under a military ruler in Pakistan. This government is really fascist and dictatorial!
@Reality Check. You definitely need a reality check. This plane is not Mr. Hashmi's property. Mr. Hashmi's health condition doesn't allow him lengthy road trips. Hence, he makes use of the plane and it's not paid by Public Tax money.
Looks like they haven't learned anything from 12 October 1999 incident of plane diversion
Private plane? Are you kidding me? Who is paying for PTI's political campaigns?
Same old punjabi tactics............Govt. is pushing themselves in corner by using such tactics.
@Mustafa Alvi:
Well off? Then why Habib mentioned his name among with those politicians who received money from him? According to Mr. Hashimi, Habib was telling the truth until he named him as well as one of the recipient and then he became a liar.
In politics, God knows who speaks the truth. But one thing is for sure that those who bet on running horses will cash their chips when a horse wins. After all it is all about politics and money - no one works for free. If he/she does then better work at an orphanage.
shame on people who judge hashmi on private plan and link it to some sort of financial corruption in Party funds but they easily justify Nawaz Sharif not allowing passengers on PIA because he want to carry loads of Mangos for his masters and he need those seats for family and friends. Shame.
Javed Hashmi is one of the few sane voices in PTI. Government must protect him at any cost. Government should also find out who sent him in bad weather. These days Mr. Hashmi is not given a seat in a bus, private plane for him does not make sense.
Whoa all these poor politicians travel in private jets? wow and that too from the most honest party in the world.. I would like to become a politician get a private jet and roll in the dough.. where do i sign up for this gig?AMAZING
Diverting planes is becoming the favorite hobby of PMLN!
