Two people commit suicide in separate areas of Swabi

SWABI: A woman was gunned down allegedly by her father-in-law in Tordher, Swabi, while two other people reportedly committed suicide on Monday.

Munir Alam, a resident of Jahangira, told the police that his sister had been married to Zahid Ali for the past 10 years and her husband being a truck driver was usually not at home.

According to Alam, his sister and Zahid’s father Liaqat Ali did not have a good relationship and fought regularly.

Alam added that when he visited his sister’s house on Sunday, she was having an argument with Liaqat, who picked up a gun in anger and opened fire at her. She died on the spot, while Liaqat escaped, said Alam.

Police registered an FIR and began a search for the accused.

Separately, a woman committed suicide within the limits of Chota Lahor police station. Gohar Ali, a resident of Anbar, told the police that his wife shot herself in their house. Ali claimed he did know what caused her to take her own life.

Yet another person committed suicide in Manki area of the district. According to the police, Tajur Rehman, who was suffering from mental illnesses, killed himself. The motive behind this suicide could also not be ascertained.
