Chaos and confusion: Armed men attack house in Mirpur Mathelo

Attackers did not harm any family members but shouted threats of dire consequences.

SUKKUR: Terror and panic ensued in Mirpur Mathelo on Sunday when a group of armed men attacked a house in Eid Gah Muhalla and resorted to indiscriminate aerial firing for 30 minutes.

A group of armed men raided Eid Gah Muhalla and broke into the house of Ghulam Nabi Chijjan.

The armed assailants broke the doors and windows of the house and resorted to aerial firing, which continued for half an hour.

They did not harm any member of the family, however, continued to hurl threats of dire consequences and left.

After half an hour, they returned to the house and started aerial firing.

In the meantime, the police reached the spot.

The armed men fired some shots upon the police, but no casualty or injury was reported.

Later, the police arrested six armed men from the Bozdar tribe, who were identified as Aitibar, Malik, Dilawar, Liaquat, Shahzor and Rafiq , and recovered arms from their possession.

However no case was registered until the filing of this report. Sources in the area claimed that around five months ago, Ghulam Nabi’s son, Manzoor Chijjan, had eloped with Najma, daughter of Pathan Malik, and is now living at some undisclosed location.

They added that the girl’s father had hired the Bozdar tribesmen to attack the house of Ghulam Nabi and terrorise him.
