ISLAMABAD: Pakistan lodged a strong protest with Afghanistan over another cross-border attack by militants on Friday.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “a strong protest has been lodged with the Charge d’ Affaires of Afghanistan over another cross-border attack by terrorists.”

Sniper fire from the Afghan side of the border at a Pakistan Army check post near Ghakhai Pass in Bajaur killed one soldier on Friday.

Pakistan has protested to Kabul several times and asked the Afghan security forces to take action against the Pakistani militants who are using the Afghan soil against Pakistan. Kabul, however, has not taken any action, triggering speculation that these militants might have a support base there.
