Mysterious murder: Woman’s body discovered in a sack

Man killed, brother injured in road accident.

ATTOCK: The body of an unidentified woman has been recovered from a sack in a deserted area in Attock. Initial investigations by the police have revealed that the woman had several injury marks on her neck and back, with officials alleging she may have been strangulated after the attackers cut off her nose.

The incident came to fore when a local shepherd spotted a sack and informed the local police who opened it and found the body of an unidentified woman inside.

The body was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for a post-mortem and other legal formalities. Police said a detailed probe is being carried out to ascertain the motive behind the killing and find the culprits.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and his brother injured in a road accident. Rehman Wali and his brother, Khan Wali from Pindi Ghap, were travelling in a car when a speeding truck, driven by an unidentified man, knocked them and fled leaving them injured.

They were taken to a nearby hospital where Rehman was pronounced dead. However, Khan was stated to be in a stable condition. The truck driver, who has yet to identified, managed to flee leaving his truck at the site.

Moreover, the body of a man who drowned in Ghazi Barotha Dam around eight days ago was recovered on Friday.

Akhtar Khan, a resident of Mohalla Darussalam Colony, had gone to swim in the dam when he drowned. Local rescue teams were searching for his body ever since and finally recovered it.
