Graft charges: Wanted accused netted after 15 years

Arrest came during a special campaign launched during the Eidul Fitr holidays

LAHORE: After a 15-year-long hunt, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has finally arrested a proclaimed offender (PO), The Express Tribune has learnt. The arrest came during a special campaign launched during the Eidul Fitr holidays. According to Director FIA Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Rs3.099 million were recovered from Farhat Naveed Maan, a former junior storekeeper at NTDC/WAPDA in Chichoki Mallian warehouse. The accused remained PO for 15 years. He added that Rs0.5 million was recovered from another accused, Hafiz Imran, a porter at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Lahore airport. Imran allegedly received bribe for clearance of mobile phones from the airport.
