
Batting first, Omar Associates posted 173-7 in the 20 overs courtesy a brilliant knock from opening batsman Rameez Raja Jr, who scored 80 off 44 balls with seven sixes and eight boundaries, while Sami scored 59 off 34 deliveries, hitting three sixes and two strikes to the fence.
Sohail Khan and Faizan Riaz picked up two wickets apiece.
In reply, Advance Telecom fought gallantly but failed to reach home, registering 171-8 in the allotted overs. Babar Agha made an unbeaten 47-ball 65 with two sixes and six boundaries in the losing causing, while Asif Ali hammered six sixes in a 55-run knock.
Requiring eight runs off the last over, Advance Telecom were robbed of the win courtesy a brilliant bowling spell from off-spinner Misbah Khan, who conceded just five runs and claimed two wickets along with Sami.
The winners received a cash prize of Rs400,000, while the runners-up were give half the amount.
Alamgir Gymkhana’s Saud Shakil was named man of the tournament and Rameez Raja Jr the best batsman.
Among other awards, Omar Associates’ duo of Fawad Khan and Javed Mansoor received the best bowler and wicketkeeper honours respectively.
