Deadly assault: Man shot dead by robbers

BAHAWALPUR: A man was shot dead by robbers in Bahawalpur late on Saturday. The robbers snatched Rs140,000 from Naveed Ahmad, a resident of Kabirwala, while he was returning home on a rickshaw. Family members said Ahmad, a salesman, was returning home after receiving payments from some shopkeepers he supplied. When the rickshaw reached the Circular Road, two unidentified gunmen stopped it and snatched the money from Ahmad. When he resisted, the robbers shot him and fled. The rickshaw driver took Ahmad to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
