Regular, Contractual: Employees are treated equally: NBP

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), while responding to a story titled “NBP struggling in multiple facets” published in The Express Tribune, says the bank is equally treating regular and contractual employees and both are valued on merit and their contribution leads to their promotion. “NBP’s regular employees are given special consideration for overseas posting. Similarly, compensation-wise, both regular and contractual employees are well placed within the banking sector,” it said in a statement, though it failed to respond earlier when the story was going to appear. The bank started 2014 with improved profitability while non-performing loans were the major area of focus with a dedicated team, it said, adding NBP was actively following recoveries with strict targets to add to the profitability.
