BANNU: An Internally Displaced Person, Tahir Habib, from Haiderkhel village of Mirali, was shot dead by unidentified assailants at the Bannu Township in Bannu on Wednesday. According to police officials, unidentified men on a motorbike opened fire at Tahir Habib, who was standing at a roadside. He died on the spot. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. However, tribesmen from Mirali confirmed that Tahir Habib had links with a militant group and was counted amongst the most confidential aides of a militant commander, Aryana. But they also believe that the motive behind Habib’s killing may either be a family feud or his involvement as Taliban in violent acts against fellow tribesmen, who may be settling scores now, according to tribal tradition.
