Work on metro bus project was going ahead at a fast pace and would be completed within stipulated time, project chairman Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said on Tuesday.
He was optimistic about the launch and performance of the multi-billion rupee mass transit project.
“The project will be state-of-the-art in every respect and will bring about a revolutionary change in the transport system,” Abbasi said.
He said a Rs1.5 billion service depot near Peshawar Mor would be constructed in four months.
The depot project would involve construction of parking plazas, building works, roads, drainage and ancillary works, while prequalification of contractors has already been announced, according to Abbasi.
The chairman remarked that the land acquiring process for setting up ten terminals in Rawalpindi equipped with escalators and lifts for senior citizens and special persons was underway.
