ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will install street and traffic signboards in Sector D-12, which is currently being developed by the civic agency.

CDA’s Development Directorate is carpeting the road connecting Sector D-12 with Sector E-12 (northern strip) while carpeting work on other roads in the sector will be initiated soon.

Water supply lines of Sector D-12 are being connected to the main supply line of Islamabad whereas the civic body will also install a water pumping unit in the sector.

CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has said the authority will not only open new sectors but will also resume development work in the stalled and ignored sectors.

Chairing a meeting recently, Afzal had said CDA has allocated a substantial amount for the development of stalled sectors in the 2014-15 budget. He directed officials concerned to start the process of installing street signboards in the new sectors without delay.

The chairman directed the authority’s environment wing to focus on Sector D-12 during the upcoming monsoon tree plantation drive to ensure it is green and environmentally friendly.
