Teacher training: Open varsity’s admissions begin Aug 1

ISLAMABAD:


Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will begin admitting candidates in its teacher training programmes, including Primary Teaching Certificate (PTC), Bachelors of Education (General and Arabic) from August 1.


AIOU Director Admissions Syed Ziaul Hasnain said BEd (General and Arabic) are one year programmes which comprise two semesters each.

He said the eligibility criteria for BEd (General) is a BA, BSc, BCom and BBA (2nd Division), while for the BEd (Arabic) and PTC, students have been advised to see the relevant prospectus.

Admission forms and prospectus for the autumn semester of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) to PhD level programmes can be obtained from sale points at the main campus, regional campuses and coordinating offices of the university across the country.

The admission forms along with the prescribed fee can be submitted in the countrywide branches of Bank Al Falah, Habib Bank Ltd, First Women Bank, Allied Bank and at nominated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank.

Hasnain said admission forms and prospectus of Matric, FA and BA-level programmes for Pakistanis living in the Middle East can be obtained from the varsity’s website.

Admission forms have already been dispatched to all continuing students, however, if somehow any student has not received the said admission form, he or she can download it from the AIOU website and deposit the fee any branch of the designated bank.
