Helping hands: SOS Village children donate funds for IDPs

SOS Village children donated Rs100,000 to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)in a ceremony on Saturday.    


SOS Village Director Mrs Shahnaz handed a Rs100,000 cheque to the district coordination officer.

She said the children had been given Eidi which they had decided to donate for internally displaced people from North Waziristan.

Earlier, the DCO distributed clothes and Rs300 Eidi each among children living in the shelter.

He also spent some time with the children.

The DCO announced a Rs50,000 grant for the education of a boy Tanveer, who caught his attention. The DCO said he would send him abroad for higher education.

The DCO said the district government had so far given over Rs20 million to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for IDPs.

He disclosed that tickets for Rs15 million had been sold for a cricket match to be held to raise funds for the IDPs.
