LARKANA: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Larkana chapter, has decided to completely boycott all indoor, outdoor and operation theatre duties to protest the firing incident aimed at senior PMA member Dr Khalilur Rehman. This was decided during a meeting held by PMA in the out-patients department of the Chandka Medical College Hospital. Dr Ikram Tunio said that incidents of firing at doctors’ private clinics have increased in Larkana. A large protest rally will be organised on Saturday along with the boycott. Doctors will stage a demonstration in front of Larkana Press Club to record their sentiments about the increase of criminal activities against the medical fraternity. Dr Tunio said that it has become a trend that if a doctor refuses to pay extortion money, karo-kari allegation are levelled against him and he is fired at. He demanded that Larkana police take serious measures to curb this increasing trend.
