PESHAWAR: A policeman was killed and three others wounded in a bomb attack in the Yakatoot area of Peshawar early Friday.

"The bomb exploded near a police van in Yakatoot neighbourhood at around 4:00am, killing a policeman and injuring three others," a senior police official told AFP.

"It was apparently a timed bomb containing around two kilogrammes of explosives," he said.

A funeral for the policeman, identified as Javed, was held on Friday, Express News reported. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani, the commissioner, deputy commissioner and a large number of policemen were in attendance.

Durrani, while speaking to media after the funeral, claimed that the policeman was killed by terrorists in response to the anti-terrorism efforts by police.

He added that this will not deter the police, adding that steps were being taken to ensure the security of policemen, including armour plating of police vans.

IK has been a bad effect on KP.

PTI speeds 99 percent of their time in playing negative politics and doing dharnas in Punjab.

How far will they let KP slip?? Already international airlines have supposed flying to Peshawar ...
