Female student gunned down in Rawalpindi university

Victim died on the spot after being fired at reportedly by a close relative.

RAWALPINDI: A student's life was claimed in an incident of firing on Wednesday in the Arid Agriculture University (AAU) in Rawalpindi, Express News reported. 

The reason for the attack has not yet been confirmed.

The student, identified as Saira Naveed, was a BSc computer science student in her 8th semester at the university.

After attending class, she was outside with her friends when a close relative of her's called her name out and then fired at her, killing her on the spot.

Following the attack, the university sealed it's entrances and the attacker was arrested.

The university has been under threat for a while.
