Underage driving: Awareness campaign kicks off
Banners have been displayed on the most-frequented roads and pamphlets will be given to commuters.

The City Traffic Police has launched an awareness campaign against underage driving. According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Senior Superintendent of Police Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, the campaign is specifically aimed at young drivers to raise awareness about traffic rules and the risks of underage driving. “The campaign has been designed for the safety of road users and smooth flow of traffic.” The Mobile Education Unit of the traffic police has arranged briefing sessions regarding underage driving at different points, stated the CTO. “The Education Wing of the traffic police has been making efforts to spread awareness regarding traffic rules.” Several accidents involving underage drivers have occurred, said the CTO and emphasised that traffic rules should not be violated as it could cause fatalities. Banners have been displayed on the most-frequented roads and pamphlets will be given to commuters.
